The Idaho State Museum brings the state’s landscapes, cultures and history together through more than 15,000 square feet of interactive, media-rich exhibits. The renovated museum invites visitors to explore how Idaho’s land and people have influenced one another while connecting stories from the past with life in the state today.

Nassal collaborated with Andrew Merriell+Associates and the Idaho State Historical Society throughout the museum’s renovation and exhibit development. Nassal supported material and construction solutions then helped bring the design intent to life through the fabrication of more than 30 exhibits, interactives and media experiences.

Visitors journey through galleries dedicated to North, Central and South Idaho, explore the state’s geologic origins and learn about Idaho’s five federally recognized tribes. Experiences such as the Boomtown Gallery, History Lab and Stories from Idaho add hands-on discovery, giving guests different ways to engage with the people, events and environments that shaped the state.

Blending history with science, ecology, art, technology and culture, the Idaho State Museum creates a lively setting for discovering Idaho’s past while seeing its stories from new perspectives.
