Nassal served as the rockwork contractor for Ocean Discovery at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, helping create an immersive Caribbean-inspired marine environment where guests can experience close-up encounters with some of the ocean's most fascinating animals. Designed as a unique blend of wildlife interaction, education and themed entertainment, Ocean Discovery brings the beauty of tropical marine habitats to Northern California through naturalistic exhibits and engaging animal experiences.

As part of the project, Nassal completed custom rockwork fabrication for several signature animal habitats throughout the attraction. The scope included the Dolphin Encounter, an interactive experience featuring a 200,000-gallon habitat where guests can observe, feed, touch and learn about Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Nassal's naturalistic rockwork helps create an authentic coastal setting that enhances both animal habitats and the overall guest experience.

Nassal also provided custom rockwork for Penguin Passage, a habitat designed for a colony of Magellanic penguins that features an 8,000-gallon pool and carefully crafted rocky environments inspired by the species' natural habitat. Additional work included the themed rockwork surrounding Stingray Bay, a 12,000-gallon exhibit where guests can experience up-close interactions with stingrays in a dynamic aquatic setting.

Ocean Discovery immerses visitors in a tropical island atmosphere where dolphins, stingrays, penguins and sea lions are showcased through interactive exhibits and educational encounters. The attraction combines wildlife experiences with naturalistic environmental design, creating opportunities for guests to develop a deeper appreciation for marine animals and their ecosystems.

Through expert habitat construction, custom rockwork, scenic fabrication and immersive environmental design, Nassal helped create a destination-quality marine attraction that enhances guest engagement, supports animal welfare and strengthens educational storytelling.
